Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon Oct 2013 – Hour 1

Wheee! So excited to get started. Been a while since I last participated in the readathon as a reader so lotsa things to get excited about. Now on to the introductory questions for hour 1.

What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

I’m reading in this cozy corner called bed in my room in Cebu – just one of the many beautiful isles in the Philippine archipelago.

Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I joined the readathon at the very last minute so I’ve been hardpressed to really prepare for a stack. I did come up with a shortlist of chick lit books by Filipino authors which includes:

But I’m not sure if I really wanted to read them now so I guess I’ll just have to start with something else – Kate Klise’s Dying to Meet You (Book 1 of the 43 Old Cemetery Road Series).

Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Chocolates! They’re God’s gift to mankind. 😀

Tell us a little something about yourself!

I’m bookaholic and a chocoholic. Books and chocolates are so not a good combo especially if you’re trying to lose weight. Haha

If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

This is my third or fourth attempt and this time, I’m participating as a reader rather than a cheerleader (of which I won some prizes in the past). I’m most looking forward to taking some time to make a dent on my piling TBR.

Now off to read!

Did I mention that I won as awesome cheerleader on hour 6? Yup. Got it right. Read it here:

Am a happy girl. 😀

Me and the rest of the dynamic Team Bear are cheering for awesome readers who signed up for the 2013 Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon. To see the complete list of the readers we’re cheering for, visit our team page here.

If you’ve won a prize from me, please comment on this post or send me a tweet @travelingreadr. You’ll get your choice of a book from Book Depository worth $15 or less. Good luck and enjoy! 😉

2012 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 11,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 18 years to get that many views.

Click here to see the complete report.

And I’m just so happy to be back blogging. Expect a better and more informative Traveling Reader this year! 😉
