US vs. UK (What edition do you want?)

magic under glass uk edition

Finally, another chance to win the coveted Magic Under Glass book.
My friend Memory at Stella Matutina is hosting a book giveaway contest featuring the debut novel from author Jaclyn Dolamore. Even better news, should you win, you can pick whether you want the US or the UK edition. Now how cool is that? 😉

Here’s how to win yourself a fabulous copy:

1. Visit the contest page here.
2. Leave a comment.
3. Score additional entries by posting about the contest on your facebook, twitter or on your blog. Don’t forget to mention where you posted it on your comment.
Follow Memory here: (a) twitter; and (b) blog.
4. You must live somewhere the Book Depository ships.
(Unfortunately, they don’t ship to the Philippines. But who’s gonna stop us from entering, eh? Hehe) 😀
5. Memory is planning to giveaway the US edition that is available now. But should you want the UK ed (like I do *hint..hint*), she’ll pre-order it for you as it will be available in February.
6. Contest ends January 8, midnight central time.

So what are you waiting for? Go visit her page now. 😉

Make Way For Some Magic

Nimira is a music-hall girl used to dancing for pennies. So when wealthy sorcerer Hollin Parry hires her to sing accompaniment to a mysterious piano-playing automaton, Nimira believes it will be the start of a better life. In Parry’s world, long-buried secrets are about to stir. Unsettling rumors begin to swirl about ghosts, a madwoman roaming the halls, and Parry’s involvement in a group of corrupt sorcerers for whom the rules of the living and dead are meant to be broken for greater power. When Nimira discovers the spirit of a dashing fairy gentleman is trapped within the automaton, she is determined to break the curse. But even as the two fall into a love that seems hopeless, breaking the curse becomes a perilous race against time. Because it’s not just the future of these star-crossed lovers that’s at stake, but the fate of the entire magical world.

The US Edition. Available on December 22, 2009 from Bloomsbury.

Author Jackie Dolamore is giving away an advance reading copy (ARC) of her novel Magic Under Glass with original sketches included. Interested? Here’s how it works:

+2 entries for posting for the full contest advertisement on your blog, Facebook, or anywhere else. You are also free to write your own advertisement if you wish, as long as it includes a picture of the cover, the release date, some manner of description of the book and a link back to the author’s LiveJournal
+1 entry for mentioning the contest in brief with a link to the author’s LiveJournal, i.e. on Twitter or any other place
Then leave a comment on the author’s LiveJournal to let her know where you’ve mentioned the contest.
The contest closes on Wednesday, August 26, at midnight Eastern time. Winner will be randomly chosen and will be announced on Thursday. This is open internationally.

magic under glass - uk edition
The UK Edition. Though this is not the one being given away, I think this appeals to my inner child better. The cover is gorgeously whimsical and even calls for nostalgia. Will certainly look out for this once this hits the local bookstores. 😀

A Note for Authors and Publishers: The use of the original images of any books featured on here are always given credit. However, this blogger wants to be original so a little bit of editing is always in the works to make the entries more interesting. Editing will only affect the presentation of the book and not on the cover itself.

Special thanks to Memory who posted about this on her LiveJournal. ^_^
