2011 YA Mythology Challenge

One of the best things of being on great websites like Goodreads and Twitter is you’ll be directed to great new blogs and even newer drool-worthy books. And just today, I happened to stumble upon a really cool challenge involving what else, but reading!

Tiffany of For Those About To Read is hosting a challenge that’s so right up my sleeve (and anyone else’s for that matter) – the 2011 YA Mythology Challenge.
I could give you the details here but I’d rather you visit her blog and give it some love. Go on. Click on the blue links. You know you want to. 😉

Gear and Glam

It was a fun way of killing time for our next assignment as we crashed our way (well, not quite literally, hehe) to the Gear and Glam Party at the Northwing of SM City Cebu last Thursday night. The über hip gathering was graced by the Fashion Council of Cebu, car enthusiasts and the beauteous socialites of this chosen island.
Enjoy the photos (though I wish we were able to bring a better camera)! 😉

The rare car collections of PACE – Performance and Classic Car Enthusiasts Cebu – took center stage and we oohed and aahed after every car has made its entrance. A select group of Cebuano designers showcased their wonderful collections to match the cars’ personalities.

the men
No less than men of high calibers lent their toys for this one-of-a-kind event.

the designers
The designs are as equally awe-inspiring as the names behind them.

We stopped by SM to hang out before we had to meet a bigger group for a special assignment that night when we got lucky to get wind of this special event. We got even luckier as we were able to squeeze through the black and white drapes and get really close to the center stage (good thing the security guys didn’t ask us to leave..hehe) It was so much fun crashing that party. ^_^

These pics were also edited using Emanuele Feronato‘s Triqui Lomo Action available at his website. Mucho thanks to the artist. 😀

A Different View of Manila

Last Sunday saw me taking a chunk at a side of Manila that I’ve never experienced in all my travels to the country’s capital. Enjoy the pictures. 😀

La Mesa Watershed and Ecopark

La Mesa Dam
Red. Like fire, our hope should keep burning that it is in our power to restore Earth to her former glory.

In the fields of green. Breathtaking. Beautiful. Heartbreaking.

Literally meaning “within the walls”, Intramuros, is not only a famous fortress but also a protector of unusual art forms.

ant and lichen
Orange and green. Life looks different from the perspective of the ant — it’s green.

through a cannon
Rust. This must be the rabbit hole where Alice slipped into.
(I admit that for a minute there, I was admitted to follow suit though it would have been impossible to reach Wonderland as this was no gateway but the mouth of an old and rusty cannon. Hehehe)

red bricks
Reds, oranges and some browns. The ceiling of the walled city’s entryway was a fascinating subject so I couldn’t help but go click, click, click.

TRIVIA: Finally, a new category! I added photography to the list as I seem to be getting more and more hooked to the hobby. Shout out to all my friends: Heeeyyy..It’s almost December. Umm, an Olympus Stylus 1030SW as Christmas gift? *very big grin*

10 for the 25th

Too bad it was only last year when I learned and applied the wisdom of asking for the things I really really want but nevertheless, it was fun being surprised receiving them from very good friends. And for the 25th celebration of my pachuvachuva-ness, I would like to make it just as easier for them this time. So after weeks of thinking and revising, here is my birthday wish list (THE wish list of all wish lists 😉 ):

1. Red Bowler Camera Bag

red bowler camera bag_3 Kick-ass & sassy don’t even begin to describe this cute accessory from photojojo.com.

2. Canon EOS 40D DSLR
canon eos 40d dslr
That cute bag (see #1) would be pretty useless without a camera to use it with, ayt? 😉 Full product review at dpreview.com.

But if it’s way over your budget, you can just get me this and I won’t hate you for it. Hehehe

The National Bookstore sells them really cheap. *wink*

4. Trip to Vigan
Yay! Only a week more to go. Lots of culture-soaking and bonding with friends.

5. Gift cheque for Booksale
Since i don’t think this is available (drat! I forgot to ask while I was there yesterday.) I would gladly take the cash. 😀

story time by edward bloor
Story Time by Edward Bloor. An early birthday treat from fellow Flipper maydayeve as we invaded Booksale at Emall yesterday. Sweet.

6. Mood rings
Sold in bazaars run by Muslims (the ones in SM City Cebu Trade Hall look really cute and are just about my size – around P150 each). Super heavy hint here. Hahahaha

7. Cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake
The Japanese green tea variety at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is good but blueberry is still my favorite.

8. Black Drawing Pad + cute jacket like the ones sported by Dakota Fanning as Cassie in the movie “Push“.
