We’ve all read the books. We’ve all speculated as to how the series should have ended. And now, we’re all eagerly awaiting the movie to feed our THG geek needs.
That’s why I’m giving away 2 tickets each to 2 lucky winners who will get to see the movie at Ayala Cinema in Ayala Center Cebu come March 23rd. Wheeee!
The finals week had me running on constant nervous energy that I wasn’t able to fully concentrate on the lessons and review materials I prepared much less to read a non-textbook. Even days after that grueling period, still I wasn’t able to get back into a good reading groove not until I was able to submit all the teachers’ respective class requirements and get some good nights sleep. So now that I’m playing the waiting game (for finals grade plus the results of the entrance test to masters class), I want to enjoy every minute of it with what else but reading.
The TBR grew considerably despite my supposed “aversion” from books during that time (Booksale Emall is just a few blocks away from school so what can I say? :P). Crossing my fingers I’d get to devour these new ones along with those already in the list (see The Pile) before the year ends or I’d get non-stop cries of “you’re always buying books yet you can’t even finish them coz you’re too busy doing other stuff.” Some people can be quite, er, frank. Hehehe
The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins – a friend got me a hardbound copy as an early Christmas gift so will read this as soon as I can..might even grab a copy ofCatching Fireafter this

From Amazon.com:Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
Catching Fire is the most-awaited sequel to Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games. One lucky reader will win the coveted SIGNED copy from On Our Minds @ Scholastic. Not all non-winners will go home empty-handed as five of them will each receive a cool mockingjay pin. Raring to joni? Here’s how:
Leave a comment on the Sparks are Flying discussion and answer the million dollar question: Team Peeta or Team Gale?
(Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne are Katniss’s love interests in the trilogy.)
Deadline: 5:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, September 2. (There was no mention though if the contest is international or not. But you’re not going to lose anything anyway by joining, so go do it! 😀 )
Special thanks to Natasha from Maw Books Blog who mentioned about this contest on her newest post. Be sure to visit her site as she also mentioned some other blogs where you can win Catching Fire items.

This blogger veered away from her self-instituted tradition of creating quirky titles as the book’s title which she used for this particular entry’s title is quirky enough. Plus, works even better to entice more people to join the giveaway contest. (Yep, as much as I want to win that signed copy and/or pin, I’d also like it if a lot of people would go for it. The more the merrier, as they say. *wink*)
