Eve and Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate

SUMMARY: Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, EmmaRose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible.

While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything… until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely.

It was the cover that drew me in. But it was the premise that held me fast. Oh, I wish I could get my hands on this book already. Hopefully, my family and friends would be extra generous as to get me this book for Christmas. What about you? What book/s are you eagerly waiting for? πŸ™‚

  1. I’ve featured this book on a previous WoW pick, I think. Great pick though! I have to agree, that is one gorgeous cover. Crossing fingers and hoping I can get a copy of this book way before release date πŸ˜€ If I do, I’ll send it to you after I read it πŸ˜‰

    • Thanks for dropping by, Fara. You know, your pick sounds really cool, too. I wished I picked that one myself. πŸ˜€

    • Me, too. The moment I saw Giselle (of Xpresso Reads)’s goodreads review for this one, I knew then I wanted one for myself. At least October is only a few months away. πŸ˜€

    • Hehe. Us bloggers “NEED to read” a lot of books no wonder our houses run out of spaces. πŸ˜€
Thanks for dropping by, Vickie. I like what you picked this week, too. That book’s cover is simply gorgeous. ^_^

    • I just did, Karis, and your choice was really cool. Too bad I have yet to read any of Neal Shusterman’s work. Hopefully I can get around to it soon. πŸ™‚
